Hi, there!
I'm Kal, a software engineer currently based in Bozeman, Montana. I have experience in JavaScript, Ruby, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
I recently worked with a great team where I co-created QMantis, an open-source observability tool for GraphQL APIs.
Before getting into software development I worked in business operations for retailers and start-ups.
When I'm not at my desk, you can find me out in the mountains enjoying whatever activity is in season!
QMantis
- QMantis is an open-source observability tool for GraphQL APIs, built with Node.js, OpenTelemetry, and TimescaleDB. It leverages Docker for quick and easy deployment.
- QMantis offers an easy-to-use UI with a pre-configured Grafana dashboard designed for monitoring metrics and viewing GraphQL-specific traces.
- QMantis abstracts away the complexity of generating, processing, exporting, storing, and visualizing telemetry data, making it easy to track errors and analyze an API's performance at the resolver level. It helps engineering teams monitor a GraphQL API's health, allowing them to quickly visualize exactly which requests are performing poorly, even in complex operations.
